February Revisited
I am sorry but it has been a very busy few months and I have not been completely honest in my February post. I am sure you will understand when you read on this is what I really wanted to post in February.
Friday 13th really is a good day and I do not care what anybody else says about it. After all it was a Friday 13th when we viewed our house and put in our offer. The woman had other offers but chose to accept out offer later that day. And now Friday 13th February 2015 I get home from work and I knew straight away what the letter was that was sitting on the table underneath the letter box. I could not believe it surely I was wrong, I ran over and opened up and just burst into tears. The letter was from Nuffield Hospital stating that they had received confirmation of funding from our clinical commissioning group, requesting an appointment for assisted conception treatment. Oh my God. Although I had been told it had been approved there it is in black and white, we have funding for up to 1 fresh AND 1 frozen cycle. I am so happy I could shout it from the roof tops. We have told a select few family members about this letter but the rest will not be told just yet because we do not want everyone knowing when it is. After all if you tell the wold and his dog when you start it, the world and his dog will want to know every detail during and if the cycle fails then you have to tell the world and his dog. So to make it less stressful we are keeping it under wraps for now.
We have accepted the appointments they offered us, the first appointment is for my husband to have a detailed semen analysis on 5th March and the second appointment is for both of us to attend, the initial consultation on 16th March with the consultant and fertility nurse. I also need to make an appointment for an AMH blood test and pelvic assessment scan. I am so excited it is all moving on so quickly now. The light is finally shining at the end of this very long tunnel.
What a weekend, so busy. In fact the last 2 weeks have been busy. We had that big group that I always seem to get sick with for a week at work, through which I have a stinker of a cold but I got through that week. The Saturday was Valentine’s Day. my husband and I went to the Harry Potter Studio Tour (for the second time and I can guarantee it shall not be the last time, it is well worth going to) and in the evening we went to the pub with friends. Then last week we had a slightly smaller group (only 25) in at work all week and on Friday I went to see my aunt in a panto at her church with my husband, my mum and gran. It was really good. Gran stayed at ours for the weekend, Saturday mum came round and in the evening so did my sister as my husband was out we had a movie night and ordered a curry which was nice. Then on Sunday my sister, her friend and myself went to London to celebrate the Chinese new year (year of the sheep). Needless to say this morning when it came to getting up at 6.00am ready for my 7.00am shift at work I was a tad tired and could have done with a lot longer. My next day off is Friday. It is going to be a long old week I think.
I do not mind though after all the busier I am the quicker time goes, the quicker time goes the sooner March comes. I am really looking forward to getting the IVF process rolling, instead of just the paper work bit. Hopefully by the end of April beginning of May we could be starting treatment oh I do hope so and I do hope that it is successful. So much excitement is building up inside of me, I could just burst. I am so happy I do not even care that this cold is still lingering and turned into one of those really annoying coughs that you just cannot clear for love or money.
I went swimming for the first time since September it felt great to actually be able to do something that physical and not be shattered after. Back in September I was able to do 10 lengths in 30 minutes, last night I done 10 lengths in 60 minutes. That is not as bad as I thought it could have been. I am planning on going again on my day off tomorrow.
It is almost March and I am so excited what with it being Endometriosis Awareness Month. My sister and I are planning on doing the Worldwide Endo March (last year’s million woman march) in London. I am really looking forward to this as last year it was great. And on top of this we have our first IVF appointments.
