The booklet includes a welcome from the chief executive of Frimley Park Hospital, Quality Statement. In the ‘Before your stay’ bit of the leaflet it says a bit about your admission – where ever possible they would advise I have a relative or friend to accompany me when I come into hospital. I will however just get my husband to drop me off as he will have work that day. When I get to the hospital I will be either allocated a bed immediately or asked to wait in the patients’ lounge until a bed becomes available.

- Nurses – The ward manager is
the person responsible for the running of the ward. The uniforms of the
different grades of nursing and ancillary staff can be explained to you on the
ward. A named nurse will be allocated to you. Each ward practices team nursing.
- Doctors – Your medical care
will be under the direction of a consultant who will visit you on ward rounds
with other doctors, and will decide on you course of treatment. The consultant
is assisted by a registrar and/or senior house officer. In the case of general
medicine and surgery, by house officers. If you wish to have a confidential
discussion with the consultant, ask and this can be arranged.
- Therapy Services – Physiotherapist
and other members of the hospital’s multi-disciplinary team may visit you while
you are in hospital. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to ask your
ward manager or your named nurse.
