What are the symptoms of Endometriosis? Not everyone with Endometriosis will suffer from the same symptoms. In fact some women do not experience any symptoms what so ever. Also just because you are experiencing a lot of pain does not mean that you have a lot of Endometriosis, on the other hand just because you have no pain it does not mean that you have no Endometriosis. It all depends on where about in the body your Endometriosis is and just like the other symptoms the pain will vary in intensity.

These symptoms I have found conflicting information some say they are rare others say they are common. |

As you can see there are a lot of symptoms of Endometriosis and I am sure that there are more that I have not listed. If you know of any others please feel free to email me and I will add them. You do not have to have all the above symptoms to have Endometriosis you could have just one or your could have every single one I have listed and more. Because of this varied list and the fact that most symptoms lead to other conditions this can lead to a prolonged diagnosis. I have already mentioned Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), I know of women having their appendix removed where it was thought that was the route of their pain. I myself have not had my appendix removed but a number of times before I was diagnosed I was checked out for appendicitis. I have also been told that I could have Gall Stones even though I do not fit the 'criteria' after all I was a skinny, healthy, active, young person. Even though I have been diagnosed I still have been tested for my kidney's the most recent admission to hospital they wanted to test for Renal Colic even though it was just my Endometriosis.
The average time for diagnosis for a woman from the point of going to her GP to diagnosis is approximately 8 years. Bare in mind that it will take most women sometimes several years before she realises that something is not normal about her periods before going to see her GP. For me I was diagnosed after 7 years but the only reason for this was because I was rushed to hospital and had to have an emergency laparoscopy (key hole surgery). But more of that in my story.
